We awoke with bittersweet feelings on our last day in London. We loved it there. Right around the corner from our place in Balham was a Starbucks, handy for getting the coffee to jumpstart our day. I had misplaced my hat, and I thought to ask there. Continue reading The Tower and the Eye
Tube Strike!
We had read in several travel guides to be ready for strike actions. Not likely, eh? Well on the way back from Windsor, this unintelligible message came over PA on our train… “…if the strike action goes forward…Wednesday evening…garble garble..” Continue reading Tube Strike!
Make Way For The Queen’s Guards
Our day trip to Windsor was an adventure in travel – not always in the best ways – and a real historical & artistic treat. We started off with the same walk to Balham station but not to get the Tube! Continue reading Make Way For The Queen’s Guards
National Memorial & Westminster
Just a picture post today to catch you up. Sunday mostly in Burton on Trent and Monday in Westminster.
Among many things I’m glad has changed since my youth – Americans have gone back to honoring soldiers, and save any demonizing for the politicians. Well, we Yanks could still learn some things from the Brits about honoring veterans. Continue reading National Memorial & Westminster

Europe Itinerary 2015
Everyone kindly asks what we’re planning to see when they hear we’re imminently going on vacation in Europe. So, to answer your question and provoke a little more sharing, here are our plans, in brief.
Cary’s Europe Story
My First Trip
The first time I went to Europe was in 1977. I went to see the Bay City Rollers. What I liked about Europe was the Bay City Rollers. Below is a picture of me with the Bay City Rollers at their fan club in Edinburgh.
Kim’s Europe Backstory
Last time I was in Europe was quite a while ago. You can probably tell from my stylin’ passport pictured below.
